Dear Friends and Visitors, 

Welcome to the new website for Kennedy Little League.  In 2012 we will be entering our 33nd year as a chartered Little League. Since 1979, with very meager beginnings we have grown into a program encompassing over 699 children range from 4 years old to 14 years old in Baseball and Softball.

If you are new to the Lafollette H.S., Monona Grove H.S. or McFarland H.S. attendance areas, or just visiting our website, I hope you find your visit informative and helpful.  There are names and phone numbers listed if you have any additional questions that we have not been able to answer here. 

As you explore and read through how our program works, I hope you will discover that we have one major theme that permeates everything we do, and that is “Have Fun”!  From our players, coaches, volunteers and of course our spectators, everyone is instructed to “Have Fun”.  You too, are instructed to enjoy yourself while you explore our world.

Just a reminder, with the exception of  both 8:30 TBall games, rain makeups originally scheduled for April 28th will be played this  Sunday May 20th at the same start times.

Secondly, a revised schedule will be released for some leagues in the next few days.  July 7th and 8th will be observed as the traditional 4th of July weekend, therefore we won't play league games out of respect for family holiday plans.  Some schedules already reflect this, others will be updated.

The 2012 Kennedy Little League at Miller Park game night will be between your Milwaukee Brewers and the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, June 18^th at 7:10 PM.  Kennedy Little League has 200 tickets available for this event, with seats located in the Loge bleacher section.  The cost per ticket is $22.00 and will be available for online purchase this Saturday, April 21st, coinciding with KLL Opening Day. Tickets will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kennedy will be sponsoring All-Star teams for both baseball and softball ages 10-14.  Information can be found under the All Stars tab at the top of the website.

Please read the page carefully, as well as the hyperlinked Disclosure Letter.  This information will be important helping you and your child decide if they want to participate in the try-out process.

I've begun to get requests about information regarding fall baseball, so I thought I'd pass this information along.

The GRB Academy Madison Youth Fall League is designed for players to continue their season after the traditional Wisconsin baseball season has ended. This league uses Little League style rules. Every team will play 10 games.

Beginning August 13th and running through September 17th.

Mondays and Wednesdays – Minors, Federal, Juniors

Tuesdays and Thursdays – Tee Ball, Beginning Pitching Machine, Major

The league encourages players to play to the level that they would play for the 2013 summer, giving players a jump start on advancing to the next distance and set of rules.

Ages 3-4 Tee Ball

Ages 5-6 Beginning Pitching Machine

Ages 7-8 Minor League – Pitching Machine

Ages 9-10 Federal – Live Pitching

Ages 11-12 Major – Live Pitching

Ages 12-13 Juniors – Big Field

$115 per player.

Games will be held at Madison Kennedy Little League Fields.

Visual Image Photography will again be photographing Kennedy Little League, this year on June 2^nd, 2012. 

However, unlike previous years, this year we have decided to utilize VIP’s online ordering system.  This means that instead of filling out a form, writing a check and bringing your form with you on picture day, you now will be able to go online and order pictures after picture day. 

VIP will be taking pictures of all athletes this year, regardless if you are planning on ordering pictures or not.  Those that are planning on purchasing either a team and/or an individual picture of your child(ren), you will need to sign up anytime between now and June 2^nd, 2012 so you can be notified when your team and individual photos are available to view and purchase.

Click on Submit at the bottom of the page.
 
Completing this registration will ensure that you are notified when your child(ren)’s pictures are ready to be viewed, and purchased. Included in this email will be the password to Kennedy's secure site.

To order online, visit our website – http://www.vipis.com and underneath the PROTECTED GALLERY PASSWORD heading, type in the password provided in the email from VIP. This will take you directly to the Kennedy Little League images.  Once there, select your team, then search for your child(ren)’s picture.

With the exception of  both 8:30 TBall games, rain makeups originally scheduled for April 28th will need to be postponed once again due to weather. 

The new makeup date is Sunday May 20th (next week is Mother's Day. As much as I think watching your child play ball would be a great way to spend the day, I'm told that many would not agree....).

The forecast for next week includes the possibliity of rain as well.  If you happen to see any of our ground crew, let them know you think they are doing a fantastic job keeping the fields as playable as they have. We could have had even more postponements without their efforts.

ProScapes, our neighbor across the highway and longtime sponsor, will be meeting with us this week to look at adding more diamond dirt to help eliminate the puddling when we get this much rain.

GRB will continue their series of camps this summer:

Camp Description: Like Kennedy Night at the Academy held at the GRB Academy in the month of March, the GRB Academy will be hosting Kennedy at the Ballpark Camps for the 2012 Summer.

The camps will focus on providing a weekly workout and skill im­provement plan for players to improve and enhance their skills during the summer. Each Player will receive a training shirt and hat for attending.

Camp Information:
Wednesdays from 9am-12pm at Kennedy Fields (If raining GRB Academy will be used)
6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25

SKILLS OBJECTIVE-The camps will focus on all aspects of the game of baseball, using a serious approach to skill development in a fun setting. Camps will be ran by the GRB Staff along with local college players.

Things to know: Each player will be broken down fundamentally with video review and analy­sis. Each week will provide different skill specific goals for the day. Mini games will be played along with skill challenges to keep it fun.

Camp Ratio: All of our camps will be 4:1 or 5:1 coach to player ratio or less.

Brad and Woodall Baseball Academy are excited to work with Kennedy Little League and its players to bring to you one of the best instructional clinics in the area!! Brad Woodall, former Major League player with the Braves, Brewers, and Cubs will conduct these clinics designed to teach each player correct fundamentals and the value of hard work to achieve success on the field. This instructional experience covering the mechanics, fundamentals, and mental approach to the game is a great way to get on the right track for a great finish to the 2012 baseball season!
This year we will conduct a Hitting Clinic on Friday, June 29 and a Throwing/Pitching/Fielding Clinic  on Friday, July 6.
