What League should I register my child?
This is probably the number 1 question we get asked every year. Although we give some guidelines with regard to age, these are still only a guideline. League division descriptions are on the website but keep this in mind when making your decision. KLL does not condone moving a player up a level just because dad and mom think they need to be “pushed along”. This is the easiest way to kill a player’s passion for the game. We believe that the Little League level it is much more important for a player to have fun, play with friends or players of like age, and reduce the pressure that parents and coaches can put on a player. At the same time, it is important for a player with a lesser skill set to play at a level where they feel most comfortable. Another consideration is safety, we must consider that moving a player into the next level of play is going to expose that player to a higher degree of risk if he/she is not ready or cannot protect him/her. Please be mindful of this risk factor when considering the proper level of play. Like we always say, “Better to be a big fish in a little pond than a little fish in a big pond.” Visit the League Description webpage for more information.
