Registration for the '25 season is now open

Kennedy families,

Registration is officially open today and runs through March 2 for our baseball divisions, March 31 for softball and April 15 for T-ball.

Our early bird discount of $25 off per player runs through Jan. 31 for baseball, softball and T-ball. Meanwhile, we will continue to accept players in our baseball divisions after March 2 if we have room available, but a $25 late fee will apply.

We are again working with the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant program to provide scholarships for families in need. You can see more here. Funds are limited, so the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of receiving a scholarship.

A couple of notes about our divisions:

T-ball: We require players to be 4 by April 1, 2025, in order to play this season.

Beginning pitching machine: The division is for those who are league age 6 and those 7s who want another season in a non-competitive environment.

Please remember your child’s age for the 2025 division is based on Little League rules, not their age when the season starts.

For example, children who turn 11 in July after the season is over are still considered 11s for the 2025 season.

You can find your child’s league age for the 2025 season here: https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/

Minors: The division is mainly for players who are Little League age 7 and 8.

Those who are Little League age 9 and want to play in Minors can register for Federals and then ask the board permission for their child to play down. 9s who play Minors aren’t eligible to try out for all stars, and we only recommend it for those who are developmentally behind their peers in terms of their baseball skills.

Federals: The division is geared for those ages 9-10. Those aged 11 who want to play Federals because they are behind their peers developmentally should register for Majors and then ask the board for permission to play down. They will not be eligible to try out for all-stars. 10s who want to try out for Majors should register for Federals and indicate their plans on the registration form.

13U and 14U: Our teams play in the Wisconsin Sports Services Badgerland Teeners League, which includes programs from the Madison area, as well as some from northern Rock County.

Softball: We largely follow USA Softball age rules, which means 8U will consist of 2nd and 3rd graders, 10U of 4th and 5th graders, and 12U of 6th and 7th graders. Girls are allowed to try up a level during player evaluations, though they aren’t guaranteed a spot. For league play this year we will continue to partner with Sun Prairie, though there will be some new rule changes for each league to help us advance the game of softball. We are also working on ways to hold age level practices on weeks where teams only play one game. We are also partnering with East Madison Little League this year to have a 14U team that will consist of 8th graders and high school freshmen. We are finalizing details on that and will share them once we can.

Those who have questions about which level their child should play can contact Jay Gugel at [email protected].

There are a couple of key dates to keep in mind for March:

March 7-9: Kennedy Days at Dick’s. Save 20% on your purchase!

March 15: Player evaluations for Majors, Federals and Minors at Monona Grove High School.

March 18: Makeup player evaluations for Majors, Federals and Minors at Glacier Drumlin School.

Players in 14U, 13U, BPM and T-ball will be assigned to teams later in the spring without going through player evaluations.

We expect to have player evaluations for softball in mid-April and will share details as that date draws near.
