League Descriptions

At Kennedy Little League all registered players will be placed on a team regardless if it is a drafted league or not.

T-Ball
This division is for players ages 4-6. It is designed to develop a player's basic skills and introduce players to the game of baseball in a non-competitive environment. Teams will have eight to 10 players, and everyone will bat and play the field each inning. T-ball will run a seven-week program with a game and/or practice scheduled two times per week.  The season will begin the second week in May.
Tentatively this league will play on Tuesdays or Thursdays and alternating Saturdays on the T-ball and softball fields.*

Beginner Baseball Pitching Machine
This division is designed to introduce 6- and 7-year-old players that are ready for a more advanced level to the pitching machine in a non-competitive environment. Players must be 6 for this league.
Tentatively this league will play on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays with potentially some Friday games as well. Games will be on the T-ball and softball fields. *

Minor Baseball
This division is primarily for players aged 8. Pitching is done with a pitching machine and is designed to further develop a player’s basic skills and offer more competition. Players will participate in a skills evaluation, and teams will then be drafted by coaches. 7-year-olds who want to play in a more competitive machine pitch league are eligible for Minors. We will allow 9-year-olds to play Minors if they are significantly behind their peers in their baseball development or new to the game. Those players must register for Federals and then contact the board about being allowed to play Minors.
Tentatively this league will play on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with potentially Friday games as well. Games will be on diamonds 1 and 2 as well as the softball field.*

Federal Baseball

This division is primarily for players aged 9 and 10. In the Federal program, players are exposed to live pitching and limited stealing. Players will participate in a skills evaluation, and teams will then be drafted by coaches. There is a cap of 12 players per team. Teams will be scheduled for approximately 20 games. 11-year-olds who are new to baseball or need continued development of basic skills before playing Majors are eligible to play Federals. 11-year-olds who play in the Federal division are not eligible to try out for all-stars.
Tentatively this league will play on Tuesday, Thursdays, and three Saturdays. Games will be on diamonds 1 and 2.*

Major Baseball
This division is for 11- and 12-year-olds. This is the highest level of play for this age level on the Little League diamond. Players will participate in a skills evaluation, and teams will then be drafted by coaches. There is a cap of 12 players per team. Teams will be scheduled for approximately 20 games. This is a competitive division with no requirement for player position rotations, though all players will play a minimum of two defensive innings and all players will be in the batting line-up. 10-year-olds wishing to play Major baseball must register for Federals, attend evaluations and be drafted by a specific round that will be set based on registration numbers. If they are not drafted in that window, they will be placed on a team in the Federal division.
Tentatively this league will play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Games will be on diamonds 1 and 2.*

13U and 14U
These divisions are for 13- and 14-year-olds. 12-year-olds completing the seventh grade are allowed to play 13U. This is to allow those kids young for their grade the opportunity to play two years on the big diamond prior to starting high school. Teams are organized by a coaches draft. Teams will be scheduled for approximately 18 games with some regional travel expected. The divisions will play on an intermediate field with the mound at 50 feet and the bases at 70 feet. 12-year-olds that solely play in the Junior league will only be eligible to play 13-year-old all-stars. 12s who play Majors and register as a reserve for Juniors are still eligible for 12U all-stars.
Tentatively this league will play Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on the big diamond.*
